Black Hills Side Quest started with a simple idea: what if there was a place in Rapid City where anyone — regardless of age, background, or social circle — could show up on a Friday night and instantly belong?
Our Story
How It All Started
Black Hills Side Quest was born out of a desire to create something Rapid City was missing — a free, welcoming, all-ages space where people could come together, try new things, and build real friendships. What started as a small gathering quickly grew into a beloved weekly tradition.
We partner with the Minneluzahan Senior Center, which opens its doors to the entire community every Friday evening. It's a beautiful relationship — the center gets to serve a broader mission, and our community gets a warm, air-conditioned home base for adventure.

Our mission is simple: create free, joyful, all-ages experiences that bring people together and strengthen the fabric of our community. We believe that belonging shouldn't cost anything, and that the best adventures happen when you share them with others.

Our Home
Minneluzahan Senior Center
We're proud to call the Minneluzahan Senior Center our home. Located at 315 N. 4th Street in downtown Rapid City, the center serves seniors during the day and opens its heart to the whole community on Friday evenings. A portion of donations collected at our events goes directly to support the center and its programs.
